Aurora Grove P.S. is committed to supporting the Board’s literacy focus under the three Board focus areas of Quality Schools, Building Family and Community Capacity and Quality Workplaces.
The following is an outline of our school’s Plan for Continuous Improvement including highlights of some of the strategies to support student achievement.
Curriculum Implementation
- 75% of students will read and write at levels 3 and 4.
- Students will be taught literacy skills within a balanced literacy program.
Parent and Community Involvement
- Parents will support students’ learning at home, supported by regular use of school agenda books.
- Students will meet assignment deadlines and complete homework consistently.
Effective Schools
- Students will demonstrate behaviors that are indicative of the attributes associated with “Character Matters”.
- Students will establish goals for self in accordance with Character Matters attributes.
